Unmailable Objects consists of a series of objects placed into various ubiquitous blue mail boxes on street corners. Each of these objects met one or more of the guidelines laid down by the USPS as an object that will not be processed and delivered. The result revealed potential danger in these common objects, as well as potential value. The project exists mainly as a means of mapping a predefined system — that is, the USPS. Roughly 50% of the object mailed did not arrive, and around 20% of the objects that did arrive were broken, unusable, or otherwise damaged.
